Tragic Love Triangle Turns Deadly as Woman and Attacker Killed in Machakos

A man was lynched by a mob just moments after he fatally attacked his alleged ex-girlfriend in what seems to be a love triangle in the Kitumbutu area of Machakos County.

The deceased woman, known as Susan Nyaboke, 22, was found lying in a pool of blood with serious cuts on her neck and jaw, according to police.

According to the police, the woman was employed at Inspire Credit in Machakos.

On Monday afternoon, she and a colleague had gone to meet a client in the area to negotiate a loan agreement when the tragic event unfolded.

After they wrapped up their business and were leaving, the assailant suddenly appeared and attacked Nyaboke, slashing her neck and jaw.

Her colleague yelled for help, which attracted the attention of nearby residents.

A mob quickly reacted and chased the attacker, catching him a short distance from the scene. He was stoned to death before the police could arrive.

The police later moved both bodies to the mortuary for autopsy and further investigation.

Authorities stated they are working to determine the exact nature of the relationship between the attacker and the victim, and whether the meeting in the area was a planned setup.

In a separate case, police in Ntimaru, Migori County, are investigating the murder of a 54-year-old man who was stabbed to death in an attack along a local road.
The incident occurred on the night of Monday, October 27, police said.

Three men carrying a knife and other rudimentary weapons allegedly attacked the victim, Daniele Mwita. After being stabbed in the stomach, Mwita was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and later declared dead.

According to police, the area has seen an increase in murder cases, some of which have been connected to cattle rustling.

To find and apprehend the perpetrators of the most recent murders, investigations are still underway. In another case, a 17-year-old girl in Machakos County’s Kivi neighborhood was murdered and her body was left in a thicket.

Locals found the body on Sunday night and reported it to the authorities, according to police. The girl had obvious head injuries and was nude. The deceased attended the nearby Imilini Secondary School.

No arrests have been made as of yet, according to police, and the reason for the killing is still unknown. While investigations are ongoing, the body was brought to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
