Cunha’s Late Strike Sinks Arsenal as Man United Win 3-2

Mattheus Cunha delivered a thrilling late winner for Manchester United, leading them to a 3-2 victory over Premier League leaders Arsenal in a captivating encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

This defeat marks Arsenal’s first home loss of the season, following successful outings for their title rivals, Manchester City and Aston Villa, which has now reduced their lead to a mere four points.

Arsenal commenced the match with vigor, seizing the lead when United defender Lisandro Martinez inadvertently scored an own goal in the 29th minute.

However, the Gunners’ advantage proved short-lived, as Cameroonian newcomer Bryan Mbeumo equalized just nine minutes later in the 37th minute. United began to find their rhythm as the teams approached halftime.

In the second half, United displayed unwavering determination, with an in-form Patrick Dorgu extending his goal-scoring streak by outmaneuvering Arsenal’s David Raya, giving United their first lead of the match.

Following Dorgu’s goal, Arsenal appeared rattled, as United seized control of the game, leaving the Gunners’ players scrambling to regain composure as they struggled to keep pace.

Arsenal managed to equalize when manager Mikel Arteta substituted Merino for the beleaguered playmaker and captain Martin Ødegaard, who deftly slotted the ball into the net.

As the match seemed destined for a draw, Brazilian Matheus Cunha unleashed a stunning strike that left Arsenal supporters disheartened.

The contest concluded with a 3-2 victory for United, revitalized under interim caretaker coach Michael Carrick. This result propelled United ahead of their Merseyside rivals, Liverpool, who faced an unexpected 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth.
