Caleb Amisi Says UDA Cannot Win Ol Kalou By-Election

Caleb Amisi, the Member of Parliament for Saboti, asserts that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lacks any chance of winning the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election. He emphasizes that even attempts to manipulate the election outcome will not sway the voters’ decision.

In a statement released on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Amisi shared his recent three-day tour of Ol Kalou, where he visited every ward and interior village to assess the political climate firsthand.

The dedicated legislator utilized various modes of transportation—including car, boda boda, and walking—to engage directly with residents throughout the constituency.

“I spent three days in Ol Kalou, visiting all wards and interior villages. I drove, rode a boda boda, walked, and connected deeply with the locals,” Amisi stated.

From his observations, the MP confidently declared that UDA cannot achieve victory in the by-election under any circumstances.

“UDA cannot win in Ol Kalou, even through dishonest means,” he asserted.

Amisi strongly believes that the by-election results must genuinely reflect the voters’ intentions, cautioning against any electoral malpractice.

“The results in Ol Kalou must mirror the true sentiments of the people, and we will not tolerate any misconduct,” he added.

He further indicated that the main contenders in this race are the newly formed People’s Renaissance Movement (PRM), the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), and the Jubilee Party, dismissing other candidates as lacking significant influence.

His comments follow a weekend appearance where he was seen campaigning alongside his party’s candidate, Timothy Kariuki, before the campaign period concluded.

While addressing the residents of Ol Kalou, he encouraged them to support the PRM candidate, who gained national attention by presenting his nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) while riding a donkey.

Preparations for the by-election are now fully underway, with the final step being the opening of ballot papers, a process that will be overseen by party agents.

According to the area returning officer, all electoral materials have been organized and are ready for distribution to the 114 polling stations across the constituency.

In response to previous security concerns in the area, the National Police Service has deployed over 1,000 police officers to ensure a secure environment during the election, assigning at least two officers to each polling station.
