The Ukrainian government is considering severing its diplomatic ties with Tehran due to an association with the ‘devil’.
In a late-night press briefing, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there is strong evidence that Iran has been collaborating with Russia in the ongoing war in Ukraine, to further the latter’s inversion of Ukraine.
The President further confirmed that there has been a heavy presence of Iranian drones in the Russian camp in Kyiv, which are suspected to have been in use by the Russian army to destroy Ukraine.
“Today, the Russian army used Iranian drones for its strikes… The world will know about every instance of collaboration with evil, and it will have corresponding consequences,” Zelensky said in a late-night video address.
Zelensky further stated that a total of eight Iranian-made unmanned aerial vehicles had been shot down so far in the conflict.
Kyiv is now considering cutting its diplomatic ties with Tehran. “In response to such an unfriendly act, the Ukrainian side has decided to deprive the ambassador of Iran of his accreditation and also to significantly reduce the number of the diplomatic staff of the Iranian embassy in Kyiv,” it said in a statement on its website.
Right now the main Iranian envoy to Ukraine, Manouchehr Moradi, is not around, so the message was handed to his principal assistant.
Russia has received a backlash from many nations, including the United States, for its unwarranted attacks on Ukraine. Several leaders have condemned the invasion – but Russia seems to have no time for such.
In August, a senior U.S. administration official said Russia has faced “numerous failures” with Iranian-made drones acquired from Tehran.
