The spat between Azimio coalition brothers is nowhere near the end, with Senator Sifuna now daring Fatuma Dullo for a debate.
The sibling rivalry has been raging following the composition (and selection of members) of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC). Jubilee Party has claimed that their coalition counterpart, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has short-changed them by replacing Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo with her Nyamira colleague, Okong’o Mogeni. The latter is an ODM-elected Senator, under Azimio coalition while the former is a Jubilee-elected Senator – also under Azimio coalition Party.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has now come out guns-blazing, daring the Isiolo Senator to come for a debate with him – to establish who – between ODM and Jubilee – is on the right. Senator Sifuna has chided his Isiolo counterpart for lack of what it takes to be in the prestigious PSC. “A debate with our brothers and sisters from Jubilee on conmanship is one I would very much welcome,” he said.
Senator Sifuna had, on Friday, confided a plan to remove Dullo on grounds of alleged “greed and gross incompetence”.
“From what she has done, her conscious should direct her to resign, otherwise, we are going for her,” Senator Sifuna said.
The ODM secretary general accused Dullo of incompetence, saying the busy office requires a dedicated and competent person.
“She has proved it herself [incompetence]. She is grossly incompetent from the way she handled the affairs of that office. She has to go,” Senator Sifuna said. The ODM secretary general accused Dullo of incompetence, saying the busy office requires a dedicated and competent person.

But on her part, Senator Fatuma dismissed Senator Sifuna of being too young in politics to decide on the weighty issues as the one on the table. She reiterated that the seat in question must remain a preserve of the Jubilee Party, and not any other party under Azimio coalition. “He is used to arm-twisting and gang-attacking people. Let him try that elsewhere. He is bitter with me because he wanted that position and mzee [Raila Odinga], denied him,” she said.
“Senator Sifuna must know how to relate with people. He is a junior member, only three months old in the House. He cannot make decisions for Azimio.”
