A team from Rotary club of Sagam in Gem Siaya donated foodstuffs and sanitary pads to two orphanages in the Sub – County.
Since the breakout of the Covid19 pandemic, many political leaders have been supporting vulnarable members from the communities they represent, few thinking about the “Orphans”.
Speaking to the ‘Nyanza Daily’ on Sunday 26, the President of Rotary club of Sagam Honourable JT Okinda said that the club is working on a program that will assist the vulnerable in the wake of the Covid19 epidemic.
” I sent our four Rotaracts and Secretary to donate foodstuffs to Amani Orphanage in Midhine and Ebenezer Orphanage in Kayieye. We intend to support the vulnerable with food, sanitary pads, facemasks, washing soaps as we confront the epidemic.” Mr Okinda said.
He also urged all Kenyans to observe the public health guidelines on the epidemic.
“Our message to all Kenyans is to continue observing the public health guidelines on the epidemic.” Okinda said.
The Covid19 outbreak has forced millions of Kenyans skip meals as economy tightens.
