Raila’s Death Mystery: PA Dennis Onyango Hints at Conflicting Timeline

Former Prime Minister’s longest serving personal assistant (PA) Dennis Onyango has dropped yet another hint that Raila Odinga may not have died on Wednesday 15th, October 2025.

In one of the viral social media videos, Onyango is heard narrative how he spoke to the late politician just a day before his untimely demise.

Onyango said that on Sunday evening, he talked to Raila on phone—just before Raila would die on Monday.

Raila is believed to have died on the morning of Wednesday 15th. October, in India. That’s when President William Ruto broke the news of Raila’s death in India. The President then rallied a few dignitaries to board a chattered airliner to go and collect Raila’s body from India to Kenya for interrment, which was in accordance with Raila’s wish of being buried within 72 hours after his death.

The former Prime Minister’s PA’s utterances come on the back drop of several versions surrounding the unfortunate death of the opposition supremo, a death that has hit the very political nerve of many Kenyans.

About a week ago, Oburu Odinga, Senator for Siaya County and the elder brother to Raila, is seen in a video clip saying that Raila collapsed in his compound. The statement could be interpreted to mean that Raila died here in Kenya, and not in India, as widely believed. The statement, still, can mean that going by his stature and standards, the Kenyan politician had rented an aboard in India where he enjoyed total privacy, with his own compound.
