
The Kenyan football community mourns the loss of beloved Radio Jambo commentator Paul Kimani Kaberia, affectionately known as Diblo. He passed away early Sunday at Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital after a brief illness, marking the end of a remarkable broadcasting career that resonated with millions.
Diblo’s unique style, sharp wit, and deep love for football endeared him to fans nationwide. His dynamic storytelling and signature “Taaaarifa!” transformed football commentary into captivating entertainment, solidifying his status as a household name.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) led tributes, honoring him as a defining voice in Kenyan football. “Diblo brought matches to life with his passion and energy, creating cherished memories for fans,” they stated.
FKF expressed heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the broader sporting community, wishing him eternal peace.
The Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) also shared their sorrow, remembering Diblo as a vibrant presenter and valued member. “His infectious energy and distinct voice resonated with millions,” said SJAK President James Waindi. They celebrated his storytelling talent and his significant impact on sports journalism in Kenya.
“Diblo was not just an outstanding journalist but a brother and teammate, leaving a lasting impression on SJAK FC,” the statement continued.
Radio Jambo presenter Joseph Ogidi, also known as Gidi Gidi, remarked that Diblo’s legacy will continue to resonate in Kenya’s sports scene. “His voice and passion entertained countless listeners. Lala salama, Diblo. Your contributions will always be remembered,” he shared on Facebook.
