Oburu Dismisses Health Rumors, Confirms Active Role in ODM

Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga has firmly addressed rumors regarding his health and alleged disappearance, asserting his active participation in politics and commitment to party affairs.

In response to the increasing speculation surrounding his recent low profile, the seasoned politician clarified that he has neither been abducted nor unwell, explaining that he has been engaged in guiding ODM activities from behind the scenes.

“I was not abducted. I’m not sick,” Oburu stated, aiming to dispel the claims that have circulated widely on social media in recent days.

The senator elaborated that his absence from the public eye primarily stems from his dedicated involvement in internal party coordination and consultations designed to strengthen the Orange Democratic Movement.

“I was also busy providing guidance within our party, ensuring that our organization remains undeterred,” he explained.

Oburu reassured that ODM continues to operate effectively, despite the political challenges that opposition parties face nationwide.

He highlighted the robustness of the party’s structures, emphasizing their ability to function efficiently even when individual leaders are not frequently visible to the public.

“Our party is active and fully engaged. It continues its operations as usual because we are a well-structured organization,” he remarked.

The senator underscored that ODM’s strength derives from collective leadership rather than reliance on a single individual, noting that the party maintains its momentum through established systems and officials.

“We do not rely on one person; we depend on the entire structure, and as long as it is operational, everything is functioning smoothly,” Oburu asserted.

He also shared that his role often involves quietly stepping in to address emerging political issues, ensuring the party remains united and focused on its objectives.

“When challenges arise, I quickly intervene to negotiate solutions and facilitate progress,” he noted.

Oburu, a long-serving politician and elder brother to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, remains one of ODM’s key strategists and influential voices within the opposition.

The senator encouraged party supporters to disregard misinformation and maintain their faith in the party’s leadership and organizational structure, affirming that ODM remains committed to serving Kenyans and advancing its political agenda.
