Kikuyu Elders have assured ODM Party Leader and Presidential hopeful Raila Odinga of their unwavering support in his anticipated stab for the country’s top job, and requested him to reciprocate their support by supporting city tycoon turned politician Agnes Kagure who has declared her interest in the Nairobi gubernatorial race.
The coded plea was made by the patron of the unified Kikuyu Elders group Mr Kinyua Mwangi who presided over the elders’ function that was part of the program in Raila’s tour of the vast Mount Kenya region.
Earlier in the event, Agnes Kagure had led the delegation of eminent women from the Kikuyu community in welcoming Hon Ida Odinga as their own, a ceremony that was iced with Mama Ida being christened Nyawira, to symbolize her acceptance as a friend and member of the Kikuyu Community.
Hon Kagure is best known for her business success that saw her feted among the country’s top entrepreneurs. Since her debut into the public scene two years ago, Kagure has involved herself in empowerment drives and philanthropic activities to give back to society.
