Washington D.C., October 16, 2025 — The Founder and Chairman of the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon, has sent a heartfelt message of condolence to Mrs. Ida Odinga and the Odinga family following the passing of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.
In his message, Dr. Moon described the late Odinga as “not only a statesman of Kenya but a son of Africa whose moral courage and enduring faith inspired countless men and women across the continent.”
Dr. Moon recalled his close collaboration with the former Prime Minister during Kenya’s post-election reconciliation efforts, noting that Odinga’s vision extended beyond politics to the deeper work of “transforming hearts and renewing values.”
“From our early work together following Kenya’s post-election violence, he championed the cause for peace cultivated not in politics but in the transformation of hearts and the renewal of values,” Dr. Moon said. “His steadfast support advanced GPF’s vision of One Family under God, empowering new generations of moral and innovative leaders.”
Dr. Moon praised Raila Odinga’s enduring legacy as a leader who embodied unity, reconciliation, and hope for Africa, stating that his leadership will continue to inspire peacebuilders across the world.
He concluded by offering words of comfort to the Odinga family and the Kenyan nation:
“May the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father receive him in his eternal rest, and may you, your family, and the nation he loved find comfort knowing that his leadership and example will continue to inspire Africa and the world toward lasting peace.”
