Floods leave millions displaced & 25 dead in Bangladesh

Millions of Bangladeshi citizens have been displaced in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh in raging floods that have left 25 people killed following monsoon rains that swamped the Asian country.

Sources have told Nyanza Daily that much of the north-east is under water and that the situation could worsen over the weekend with more rains forecast in Bangladesh and parts of India.

The government has deployed the military to join in the rescue and relief operations in Bangladesh after monsoon rains swamped huge areas of the country.
