Opposition Leader Raila Odinga.

Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Amollo Odinga has fired a warning shot to some politicians determined to take Kenya to the path of war ahead of the 2022 general election.

The warning follows remarks made by the Kapseret legislator Oscar Sudi and Emurua Dikirr legislator Johanna Ngeno whose remarks were perceived to target the head of state and his close family.

Raila spoke at his Capitol Hill office in the company of various leaders including a delegation from Narok County. “I want to ask the deputy president to spare this country the politics of war and threats and violence.” He said.

Raila also reiterated that there is need to move with speed and complete the process of the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI).He assured the nation that Reggae will soon be back with us here and that nobody will stand on its way.

On his part, Deputy President William Ruto tweeted “Leaders should exercise restraint and avoid insults and bad language against other Kenyans. Unsavoury words against mother and head of state is a NO,NO.No amount of anger justifies use of offensive insulting language. There exists decent ways to communicate however one feels.”
