Tension and uncertainty is looming in Migori County ahead of the impending impeachment motion against the county boss Okoth Obado that was set to be tabled in Migori county assembly this afternoon.
Our sources on the ground inform us that security has been heightened within the vicinity of Migori town following reports that MCAs are already facing threats and intimidation from some rogue youths opposed to tabling of that motion. Nyanza Daily reporters in Migori county confirmed presence of some strange faces loitering around the Central Business District with unclear motives.
The move to beef up security around Migori comes after some Members of the Migori County Assembly including the county Speaker Mr. Boaz Okoth alleged threats to their lives in the whole circus. Mr. Obado is facing impeachment trial after the opposition party Orange Democratic Movement made a resolution with some of the Migori County Assembly to institute an impeachment process of the Governor over the alleged misappropriation of Ksh 73 million.
