In a recent wave of appointments, former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa and ex-Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga have been given significant roles in the government.
According to a gazette notice issued on Friday, President William Ruto has appointed Jumwa as the non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board, a position she will hold for the next three years. This appointment comes after Jumwa was dismissed from her cabinet position in July of the previous year, and she succeeds Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed, whose tenure has been cut short by the new Trade Cabinet Secretary, Lee Kinyanjui, just after taking office.
In addition, President Ruto has appointed Mary Wanjira Kimonye as the Vice-Chairperson of the Public Service Commission, a role she will fulfill for the next six years. The President also selected former IEBC Commissioner Boya Molu to join the commission as one of its seven members for the same duration.
The remaining members appointed to the Public Service Commission include Harun Maalim Hassan, Mwanamaka Amani Mabruki, Francis Meja, Dr. Irene Cherotich Asienga, Joan Andisi Machayo, and Dr. Francis Otieno Owino.
These appointments reflect a strategic move by the President to strengthen leadership within key state bodies.
