United Democratic Alliance (UDA) youth in Kisumu yesterday came out to defend Kapseret member of parliament Oscar Sudi, their fellow youth.
The youth termed the barbs being thrown at Sudi, from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, as an onslaught on the young people of this country. This is an unfamiliar development because this kind of support was not expected from a Raila’s political bedrock of Kisumu.
Of late, there have been heated political bards being exchanged between supporters of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and those of President William Ruto. Rigathi recently went to his Nyeri home turf and sent strong words against leaders from the Rift Valley region – warning them to desist from politicking with mount Kenya region.
This way, the Deputy President was directly attacking the Kapseret legislator.
It was at that point that the those youth in Kisumu, led by their interim national chairman, Cedric Otieno, rallied behind Sudi saying they will not sit back and see one of their own being vilified.
He said the DP should remember it was young people who traversed the country looking for votes for this government.
“It was Sudi who braved a hail of stones in the run up to elections in 2022, when the motorcade of President William Ruto, then Deputy President, came under stones in Kondele,” Otieno said.
