Rigathi Gachagua, former Deputy President, plans to grow his party, Democracy for the Citizens (DCP), for Kenyans abroad in 2026.
On Saturday, December 20, 2025, he shared plans to visit other continents next year. He aims to meet diaspora communities and set up satellite offices.
Gachagua spoke at a gathering with Kenyans living abroad. The event took place at his Wamunyoro home in Nyeri.
He hosted the DCP Diaspora Chapter for Christmas. He thanked them for their warm welcome during his U.S. visit in July and August this year.
They updated him on DCP chapter growth around the world. He shared how the party succeeded locally, shown by wins in recent by-elections in Kakamega, Narok, and Nairobi City County.
The group also told him about plans for his trips to other continents in 2026. The goal is to launch satellite offices and build support among Kenyans abroad.
U.S. tour
Gachagua left Kenya on July 9, 2025, for a two-month trip across the United States. It was his first overseas journey since leaving office in October 2024.
There, he met various groups and promoted his party. He opened diaspora offices too.
