Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has come out openly in praise of Raila Odinga’s political association with top professionals.
Gachagua, when speaking to Kikuyu professionals yesterday at night, attributed Raila’s ability to stay afloat in Kenya’s politics to top-notch leaders that were being elected through his party of Orange Democratic Party (ODM).
Rigy G went ahead to call out on his Agikuyu community members for failing to elect elite leaders to defend their Kikuyu tribe, which Gachagua claimed to be “under threat”.
Gachagua mentioned leaders like Siaya governor James Orengo, who is a legal stalwart and a senior counsel, Prof. Okong’o Mogeni, another top lawyer, also a senior counsel, Kisumu Senator Prof. Tom Ojienda, a seasoned lawyer and a senior counsel, Rarieda Mp Dr Otiende Amollo, a top lawyer and also a senior counsel, Kisumu governor Prof. Anyang’ Ngong’o, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who is a lawyer, Embakasi East Mp Babu Owino who’s a lawyer, Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo, who is a retired Judge, Millie Odhiambo, who is also a lawyer among others.
Gachagua asked professionals from his community to offer themselves to elective seats so that they would be defending him anytime the government wants to turn against their tribe, or against himself as Gachagua.
The former Deputy President said that Raila was able to get into any government and ask for anything he wanted because he had great brains as his foot solders. He went ahead to mention leaders from his community whom he feels didn’t meet professional pedigree to challenge anything that would come from Raila’s side.
