TikToker Arrested for Claiming to Have Been Paid to Kill Babu Owino

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested a TikToker Roy Otieno Odhiambo after he claimed on TikTok that he had been paid KSh 3.5 million to kill Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

According to detectives, Roy published false information in a viral video posted on October 20, 2025, where he alleged that he had been paid KSh 3.5 million by a senior government official in order to assassinate Mp Babu Owino.

Following investigations, the suspect was traced and arrested at his hideout in Malindi. He has been processed and is awaiting arraignment.

The level in which young people are misusing internet, and in particular Tik Tok, leaves one asking why individual responsibility is not something worth consideration.

President William Ruto just recently signed into law a bill that would control and put into checks blatant misuses that sometimes people display on social media platforms.
