Younger brother to former Harambee Stars Denis Oliech, Kevin Oliech succumbs to cancer in Germany.
Kevin Oliech who played for Mathare United, Thika United and Gor Mahia had been battling with cancer for four years before his death.
The sports cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed has eulogized Oliech as a talented and a hard-working footballer.
“Kevin was a talented and hardworking soccer player who made great contributions to the growth of sports in the country”. Amina tweeted.
Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama, Nairobi County governor Mike Sonko and Embakasi east member of parliament Babu Owino are among the leaders who eulogized Kevin Oliech.
Confirming the death of Kevin, family spokesperson Nixon Oliech noted that his brother had been battling with cancer for four years before succumbing to it in Germany.
The sad news follows the death of his mother who also perished to cancer in 2018.
