Deputy President William Ruto was today given a heroic welcome in Awendo Migori county when he visited the county for a fundraiser at Awendo SDA.
The Deputy President was accompanied by Migori governor Okoth Obado who recently defected from the ODM party back to his PDP.
Obado recently declared interest to battle for Kenya’s top seat said he was ready to work with any like minded citizen to stir the country to greater heights.
The Migori governor was accused by ODM county officials for not being committed to the party, an act that led to an impeachment motion being tabled against him.
The soft spoken Adventist is believed to enjoy grassroot support, With his interest being his party winning Migori gubernatorial seats and as many county assembly seats as possible. Obado accused Raila Odinga of dictatorship and undermining other leaders.
Ruto assured the Luo region of his support when elected, he said his government will not victimise Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta for frustrating him.
