George Wajackoyah, the 2022 Roots Party presidential candidate, has now joined President William Ruto in criticising the current opposition for allegedly lacking a platform to present to Kenyans.
On Friday, November 14, 2025, the politician told a local TV station that the opposition party has been unsuccessful in developing a platform for Kenyans to scrutinise.
No offers available.
For the first time, I concur with Ruto on that. Nothing is being offered by them. What’s being offered every day is Ruto’s name. He argued that they have not presented a comprehensive economic and political plan for the country, one that would be open to public discussion and debate.
Wajackoya, who also expressed dissent towards many of Ruto’s policies, maintained that the opposition politician had done little to persuade Kenyans as a viable alternative.
Ruto has been heavily criticised by the opposition.
“He stated that Ruto is doing bad things, but his colleagues are not contributing anything, and perhaps this stems from the proposal the president is referring to.”
Following his tour of the Ukambani region that began on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Ruto escalated his criticism of the opposition, prompting scathing remarks.
Ruto claimed that the United Opposition’s sole aim was to oust him from office, and they did not have a meaningful agenda to present to Kenyans, aside from repeating the “wantam” slogan.
Individuals lacking a clear agenda or objectives are not suitable candidates for leadership positions, as they cannot be entrusted with making important decisions in elected office. Let’s refrain from choosing representatives who would harm our nation. He pointed out the necessity of continuing the projects and the work that has already been initiated.
Discuss policy initiatives.
His deputy, Kithure Kindiki, repeated his comments and urged the opposition politician to stop making empty political insults and instead focus on their achievements.
We aim to alter the nation’s political landscape. Individuals speaking here are detailing what they have done to the citizens. We would appreciate it if our opponents could also share their agenda. He suggested they should cease inciting and sowing divisions among the people and also discuss their plans for the people.
“When we discuss the projects we’ve undertaken, we also want them to address their policies, rather than simply sowing discord within groups of people,” he added.
