EACC Sleuths Arrest Two DCI Officers Over Bribery

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has successfully apprehended two officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at the Kipkelion Sub-County Offices due to serious allegations of soliciting and accepting bribes.

The arrested officers, Corporal Wesley Korir and Corporal Christopher Maina, reportedly demanded Ksh 500,000 from a complainant in exchange for halting a murder investigation against him.

In response to preliminary findings, the Commission conducted a targeted operation that culminated in the suspects’ arrest earlier today while they were receiving Ksh 120,000.

Following the arrest, the suspects were processed at the South Rift Regional Office and subsequently released on a cash bail of Ksh 30,000, pending the completion of the investigation.

EACC remains steadfast in its mission to eradicate corruption across all sectors and encourages the public to actively report any incidents of bribery or corrupt practices through the Commission’s official reporting channels. Your vigilance plays a crucial role in fostering integrity within our communities.
