UDA Invites Members to Comment on Proposed Constitutional Amendments

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has introduced amendments to its party constitution and warmly invites members to share their thoughts on these changes.

In a notice issued in accordance with Section 20(2) of the Political Parties Act, 2011, Secretary General Hassan Omar announced that the updated constitution is now accessible on the party’s official website.

Members are encouraged to provide their written feedback regarding the amendments by sending their submissions to the party’s official email address.

You can find a copy of the amended constitution at the official Party website, https://uda.ke. We invite any member with written comments about the constitutional changes to submit their feedback to us at hello@uda.ke, as stated by Omar.

These amendments arrive at a crucial time as political parties reassess their internal governance structures in preparation for next year’s general elections.

UDA emphasizes its foundation on principles of good governance, which include equity, diversity, love, unity, freedom, justice, accountability, transparency, and peace. The party is committed to fostering a just and prosperous nation through effective governance, creating an environment where businesses and industries can flourish, developing human resources, and ensuring the welfare of the people of Kenya.

The party’s symbol, a wheelbarrow, represents the value, dignity, and respect of work in the pursuit of an equitable society. Its colors—yellow, black, green—shine brightly against a white background.

As Kenya’s ruling political party and the largest entity in the governing Kenya Kwanza coalition, UDA is led by President William Ruto. The party proudly carries the slogan “Kazi ni Kazi” alongside its wheelbarrow symbol, which underscores the dignity and worth of labor.

Previously known as the Party of Development and Reforms (PDR), UDA officially rebranded in December 2020 and quickly rose to national prominence leading up to the 2022 general election.

Following a successful presidential campaign by Ruto, who transitioned from the Jubilee Party to form the Kenya Kwanza alliance, UDA solidified its status as the dominant party in Parliament, securing the highest number of seats in both the National Assembly and the Senate, thereby affirming its role as the ruling party in the country.
