Eugene Wamalwa, the leader of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-Kenya), is advocating for the cancellation of the contentious police uniforms tender.
While addressing attendees at a church service in Kwale County and inaugurating a DAP-Kenya office in Kinondo, Wamalwa expressed concerns that this multi-million-shilling contract primarily benefits certain individuals within the government.
He emphasized that the nation seeks substantive police reforms, prioritizing improved remuneration for officers over new uniforms.
Wamalwa also criticized the government’s approach to taxation, labeling it as punitive for traders. He condemned the use of tear gas against Nairobi traders protesting against exorbitant taxes.
Additionally, he denounced the recent attacks on Linda Mwananchi leaders James Orengo and Babu Owino in Migori, urging for an environment where political parties can campaign freely and peacefully in preparation for the 2027 General Election.
