Three Die in Kericho House Fire as Police Probe More Cases

Police are probing a fire that killed three family members in Kapnandet village, Belgut area of Kericho County.

Villagers say the victims—an 80-year-old woman, her 52-year-old daughter, and a 19-year-old house help—slept in their rooms on Friday night.

A loud blast from a cooking gas in the kitchen woke them. They checked and saw flames covering the four-room house.

They shouted for help. Neighbors and others rushed over to fight the blaze.

The fire grew too strong too fast. It soon burned the whole building.

Kericho county fire team arrived later and helped put it out.

Workers took the bodies to the mortuary for autopsy and checks. Police aim to find the fire’s cause.

In Samburu village, Kwale County, someone murdered a 66-year-old man in his bed.

Police say Nzole Mumba Chileta died after unknown attackers hit him. No one knows why yet.

He lived alone. His body lay in blood with cuts on the throat, head, shoulder, and ribs.

They moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy.

In Bahati, Nakuru County, robbers killed a farm guard.

The attack hit Morop Farm. Thieves took a transformer.

Paul Ekidor, 57, the guard, lay dead in blood. His legs and hands were tied with nylon rope.

Two other guards got hurt bad and went to hospital.

Police took the body to mortuary for autopsy. Officers chase the gang.

Murder cases keep rising despite police work. Eight happen each day now.
