Ruto Calls Kenyans to Support Newly Elected Leaders After By-Election

President William Ruto has called on Kenyans with good intentions to stand up and back the newly elected officials from the recent by-elections.

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, Ruto made a statement at AIC Milimani church service, claiming that all leaders, including himself, are sent by God.

National progress for Kenyans depends on unity, prayer, and collective commitment, he also reminded.

Ruto makes a clarion call to Kenyans

Ruto extended his congratulations to all the winners of the recent mini polls and urged citizens to unite behind them, disregarding party affiliations.

I would like to offer my congratulations to all of them from across different political parties and groups. He stated that no leader is elected by default or by chance, but rather by God’s determination.

The president stressed that Kenyans should now assist the newly elected officials in achieving their development goals.

He further stated that the country is facing difficult but manageable issues, and urged the public to keep praying for the leadership.

Ruto’s comments follow a sweep of multiple seats by his broader Kenya Kwanza team across the country just two days prior.

The ruling alliance secured decisive victories in all key areas, including Mbeere North, Kasipul, Banisa, Malava, Magarini, and the Baringo Senatorial seat, at the expense of the opposition.

His allies have cited these victories as evidence that the government has the national confidence of the people.

Ruto scores a significant boost from the minipoll victory.

In a sermon address, the President stated that he thinks Kenya is solidly on the correct course.

I have complete faith in Kenya’s future. I have witnessed God’s capabilities firsthand. Three years ago we were facing difficulties with the economy, health and education, but, he claimed, God has now healed our economy.

The president also highlighted the recent launch of a one hundred seventy-five kilometre road project, which he described as a key milestone that will unlock new opportunities.

“When I launched the one hundred seventy five kilometre road that will unlock the potential of half our country, I felt very proud that God was creating opportunities for Kenya,” he added.

Ruto concluded by urging leaders from all sides to adopt unity, stating that Kenya’s transformation will necessitate a shared purpose and unwavering focus.
