President William Ruto has called on political leaders to refrain from inciting violence among the youth and instead focus on creating better opportunities for them.
Speaking at a church service in Bungoma County on Sunday, Ruto emphasized that leaders who encourage young Kenyans to engage in chaos are hindering the nation’s progress.
“The young people of Kenya don’t need violence or confrontation. They are looking for opportunities and jobs to engage in business. As leaders, we should be guiding them towards these prospects, rather than inciting them to violence and destruction, which only exacerbate their challenges,” Ruto stated.
The President reiterated his commitment to enhancing job creation and employment opportunities, urging the youth to take advantage of the existing programs offered by his administration. “There are opportunities in labor migration, ICT hubs, housing, and agriculture. Plan yourself accordingly with these opportunities, and your life will progress,” he advised.
Ruto also addressed criticism from his political opponents, asserting that he remains focused on transforming the country. “Do not worry about those hurling insults; they lack an alternative plan. Kenya will move forward, and you can take that assurance from me,” he declared.
This statement comes amid rising political tensions as Ruto faces criticism from various quarters, including his former Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, who has questioned his leadership effectiveness. Despite the challenges, Ruto remains steadfast in his determination to see his legacy projects succeed and improve the lives of Kenyans.
