Mrs Ida Odinga scoffs at dissenting leaders from Luoland

Mrs Ida Odinga, the wife to Azimio leader Raila Odinga, has castigated the orchestrators of social media attacks on her family.

Mrs Odinga said that it was high time that those who are staging attacks on Odinga family, with the hope of appearing good to the government of the day, to reconsider their moves. Speaking in Homabay County, where she was presiding over a funds drive, Ida was blunt that those who are now trying to please the Kenya Kwanza government are the same people who would recline with her on the same table from morning to lunch.
“These are the same politicians would wake up and come to my home for breakfast, lunch and supper and spend the whole day at my office. They are now insulting members of my family, forgetting they used to frequent my home, pretending to be close to the family,” said Mrs Odinga.

Mrs Ida Odinga warned her former allies turned opponents to stop appearing to be wanting favours from the national government through cheap means like social media campaigns. “Those making noise on Facebook with intentions of seeking state recognition are wasting their time,” said Mrs Ida Odinga.

She said Mr Odinga should not be blamed for failing to clinch the presidency in August.

Among those politicians who have since rubbed the Odinga family on the wrong side are: former Lake Basin Development Authority Chairman Odoyo Owidi, former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, former Kisumu Senator Fred Outa and former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo.

Others are former Rangwe MP Martin Ogindo and former Kasipul MP Silvance Osele and even Ugenya Member of Parliament David Ochieng of (MDG) Movement for Development and Growth.

The politicians have formed a caucus and are spearheading campaigns for the region to work closely with the Kenya Kwanza administration to ensure residents benefit from development projects from the government.

Mrs Ida Odinga further said that she’d be grateful if she would be remembered for having built a facility that will be of great benefit to the community. “I want to be remembered for having built a Sh300 million library and resource centre at Ogande Girls,” Mrs Ida Odinga said.
