Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has removed all members of the County Executive Committee in a significant reorganization aimed at enhancing governance and service delivery.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the governor stated that this decision, made under Section 40(1)(a) of the County Government Act, also impacts the County Attorney and the County Secretary.
Lusaka highlighted that the reorganization aligns with his constitutional duty to promote effective governance and service delivery. He emphasized that this action was taken “in good faith and in the broader public interest,” with the goal of ensuring efficient operations within the county administration while preserving the integrity of public institutions.
Despite these extensive changes, the governor reassured residents that essential services will continue uninterrupted. “The county government remains committed to continuity of services, with appropriate administrative measures in place to ensure seamless delivery,” Lusaka stated.
He indicated that further updates regarding interim arrangements and new appointments will be communicated in a timely manner, adhering to legal protocols.
Additionally, the governor acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing officials, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to constitutionalism and due process. “The governor appreciates the service provided by the affected officers and reiterates the County Government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and respect for due process,” he said.
