Jill Biden recounts traumatizing drought situation

The visiting US First Lady Jill Biden took time to recount the traumatizing drought situation in Africa, and Kenya in particular.

The First Lady of the world’s most powerful country recounted how she felt argonized with how children would collapse on their way from search for water due to severe and traumatizing drought situation.
Jill Biden said that in her previous visit to Kenya, in 2011, there was a very deliterious state of affairs in matters extreme weather conditions that left her with a permanent scar in her heart. “Mothers are bringing their children from Somalia, walking sometimes 15,20,25 days and they lose their children along the way, the children die,” she said then.
“So what I’m asking is for Americans just to be, maybe reach out and help because the situation here is dire,” she added.

This is going to be the first visit by Jill Biden as a First Lady – but she has previously visited the country before, when she was the second Lady, during the reign of President Barack Obama – with the then Vice President Joe Biden. Other than the traumatizing drought situation currently being witnessed in the horn of Africa, Jill Biden will also get involved in women empowerment programs, and issues that affect children. “Mothers are bringing their children from Somali, walking 15, 20, 25 days and sometimes lose their children along the way, the children die,” she lamented – trying to paint the picture of the traumatizing drought situation in Africa.
