Kenyan First lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Friday evening welcomed Dr. Jill Biden at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Jill Biden starts her three-day visit to Kenya where she is expected to talk about women’s economic empowerment projects. She will also address food security in the horn of Africa amidst the biting drought that has seen many families lose their livelihoods.
Rachel while welcoming the visit stated that it was a great honor for the republic of Kenya to host the American first lady.
“This visit is a follow-up of the U.S. Africa Leaders’ Summit held in December 2022 where Dr Biden hosted a two-day program for Africa’s First Ladies present,” Mama Rachel said.
In the meantime, the Kenyan first lady was accompanied by traditional dancers who not only sang unique songs but also displayed their various talents to welcome Mrs. Biden in style.
From the JKIA, Jill’s convoy headed straight to the statehouse where she is expected to address the media together with Rachel Ruto and other leaders.
