Homicide detectives investigate murder of British national Campbell Scott

Homicide detectives are actively investigating the brutal murder of Campbell Scott, a British national whose decomposing body was found in a forest in Makueni after he went missing in Nairobi.

Several suspects have been questioned as investigators work to piece together the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

Authorities are particularly focused on two men who were seen with Scott at a hotel in Westlands, Nairobi, prior to his disappearance. One of the suspects was captured on CCTV leaving the hotel with Scott on Sunday at 4:36 p.m. Police believe this individual requested a taxi that took both men to Nairobi’s Pipeline estate on February 17, the day after Scott vanished.

A taxi driver who transported Scott and the suspect has been arrested, questioned, and released on police bond, while the vehicle involved has been retained for further examination.

Crime scene investigators spent much of Tuesday at Makongo Forest, where Scott’s body was discovered, revisiting the area to gather evidence and reconstruct the events leading up to his death. Witness statements have also been collected, including one from a person who spotted the body wrapped in a sack on Saturday.

Plans for an autopsy are underway as police conduct a forensic analysis of Scott’s mobile phone and bank accounts to identify any financial transactions made prior to his death.

Investigators are collaborating with authorities in the UK, where Scott was based before arriving in Kenya on February 16 for a business meeting. He was reported missing shortly thereafter, prompting a search that has now escalated into a homicide investigation.
