A close ally to President William Ruto, Farouk Kibet, has urged newly elected MP David Ndakwa to represent all residents of the Malava constituency impartially.
Kibet stated on Friday, November 28, 2025, that public service demands impartiality, pointing out that every Malava resident, regardless of their support for Ndakwa, should receive equal treatment and consideration.
He emphasized that the emphasis should now move from political divisions and triumphant celebrations to expressions of gratitude and accountable governance, urging the MP to establish an environment where every community member feels appreciated and included.
Avoid prejudice, treat all constituents equally, regardless of how they voted. It is God’s plan that you were chosen to hold that office. The child who did not receive a bursary and voted for Seth Panyako is from Malava. Today is a day of mourning and celebration, today is a day of thanksgiving. Everyone should know this.
Ndakwa’s win
The election took place a day after a by-election was held in Malava Constituency on Thursday, November 27, 2025, following the untimely death of MP Malulu Injendi in August 2025. UDA candidate David Ndakwa won the election as the top candidate.
Ndakwa secured 21,564 votes, winning by a narrow margin over DAP-K’s Seth Panyako, who received 20,210 votes, resulting in a slim lead of 1,354 votes for Ndakwa. Besides Wilberforce Tuvei of Kenya Moja with 752 votes, other candidates in the running were Shivakale Bruce Jason with 390 votes, George Ngaira with 257 votes, Shinachi Angatia with 242 votes, Benjamin Nalwa with 215 votes, and Edgar Busiega with 208 votes.
Abdalla Salim, the Returning Officer of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), declared Ndakwa the winner at the Malava tallying centre on Friday morning.
The official declared David Athman Ndakwa as the newly elected MP of Malava constituency, and he was invited to come forward and collect his certificate.
Following the presentation of his certificate, an emotional Ndakwa looked back on the campaign and the difficulties encountered.
“I would like to thank God for all of this, we have been through a long campaign after losing our member Malulu, may God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
President William Ruto and the UDA party were also acknowledged by him for their support.
I am grateful to my party leader, President William Ruto, for giving my party a chance to contest for the seat, and I thank the people of Malava for electing me as their leader.
