Comedian Eric Omondi leads cost of living protests

Comedian Eric Omondi protesting around parliament.

Veteran comedian Eric Omondi on Tuesday afternoon brought the National Assembly to a standstill as he protested the high cost of living.

Eric Omondi who was accompanied by a group of young men stormed parliament and demanded to see speaker Moses wetangula in a bid to present to him their issues.

While at it, they sang the popular vijana msilale song with placards written: “High Cost of living,” “stima juu,” “tax juu,” “Unga juu,” “Mafuta juu,” amongst others.

The peaceful demonstrators were also shirtless with each one of them holding a chain in their hands. They not only sat on the roads around parliament but also urged other Kenyans to join them in their quest to push the Kenya Kwanza administration to reduce the high cost of living.

In the meantime, the move led to some traffic snarl-up in the vicinity of the National Assembly and its surroundings.
