Mp Caleb Amisi has expressed serious concerns about the establishment of an Ebola preparedness and isolation facility in Laikipia. He emphasizes the need for the government to prioritize national safety amidst fears of the deadly virus.
In a recent post, Amisi highlighted that the Ebola threat demands immediate attention, urging leaders to act responsibly. He stated, “We must focus on saving Kenya as a nation; otherwise, we may not have anyone left to rally for.”
Amisi questioned the government’s handling of the situation, saying, “What’s going on with our leaders? Don’t we care about Kenya? I’ll do my part, and let history judge us. Kenya needs a revival!”
In response, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale defended the facility, clarifying that it will serve both Kenyans and Americans, especially those in high-risk areas. He emphasized that the facility is part of Kenya’s broader strategy to enhance public health security, not to import Ebola cases.
Duale reassured the public, stating, “This military facility will support our troops and other Kenyans, ensuring we’re prepared for any infectious disease outbreaks.”
