Robert Alai, the Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA), has strongly criticised Homa Bay Governor for allowing Raila Odinga’s daughter to give a lecture.
In a social media statement posted on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Alai has publicly criticized all leaders who, at the party’s 20th-anniversary celebration in Mombasa, seemed unhappy with the party’s current position within broad-based politics and wanted it to maintain its opposition stance.
At the ODM Youth League @20 celebrations, Winnie reacted with great anger, accusing certain party members of attempting to sell out the party, stating that this would not occur.
She claimed that individuals who claim to represent the party by day have ulterior motives for the party at night, asserting that ODM originated from street protests and violence rather than private discussions, and that such an approach will not define the party’s path.
Top leaders’ willingness to sit down with Alai raises the question of how they can stomach these actions.
Alai has called out other party leaders, including the Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who initially rejected the party’s decision to participate in a broad-based government and back President William Ruto in 2027.
He claims they are agents of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and alleges that they are expelling genuine party members.
Wamunyoro supporters, led by Sifuna, appear to be expelling genuine ODM members from the party. Chairman @gladyswanga and @JunetMohamed should not let these individuals dominate ODM at the expense of the party’s interests. Alai retorted, “How dare you let a novice politician like Winnie speak to you as if you’re children?”
Winnie Odinga lacks the necessary political experience to provide guidance within the ODM party. She’s not even an official party member.
“The fact that you are the daughter of Baba Raila Odinga does not grant you the authority to insult female ODM leaders by claiming they are compromising with Ruto in exchange for party favors.”
Your claim to the throne is based solely on your family lineage and not on any personal achievements. It’s shameful to witness you insulting your fellow female leaders.
“It’s astonishing that a woman would employ bedroom politics to make a political point against another woman.” He expressed extreme regret in a separate post.
He urged Junet and Wanga not to let such elements dominate the party and to safeguard the party’s interests.

Alai’s views are in line with comments made by the Mining Cabinet Secretary, who also stated at the event that only Wanga and other top ODM officials have the authority to represent the party, not the other way around.
