African countries asked to relax visas for fellow Africans

The Global Peace Foundation Kenya CEO Mr. Daniel Juma Omondi has called on African countries to relax strict visa requirements for fellow Africans to promote pan African brotherhood and fraternity within the continent.

Speaking at the Hive Africa Global Leadership Program held at at the Golden Tulip Hotel Westlands in Nairobi, Juma said Africans face enough visa restrictions when travelling to other continents and therefore need not experience the same within the continent. He took issue with South Africa for its strict visa requirements and challenged other African leaders to emulate Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta who announced in 2017 that any African wishing to visit Kenya will be eligible to receive a visa at the port of entry.

Juma who also sits on the steering committee of the Mkenya Daima Initiative of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) took the opportunity to talk about the upcoming elections in Kenya and called for peaceful polls and transition in the August 9th elections.
