State House Girls Expands With 21 New Classrooms

State House Girls’ High School in Nairobi has proudly expanded its infrastructure, adding 21 new classrooms along with state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories. This enhancement directly addresses overcrowding and supports the rollout of the Senior School under the Competency-Based Education system.

Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, Raymond Omollo, highlighted the school’s impressive evolution from a converted colonial sanatorium to a beacon of excellence and leadership.

“Just a heartbeat from the gates of the State House, Nairobi, the school’s identity now shines through its commitment to excellence,” Omollo remarked.

He noted that the increasing enrollment and the introduction of Senior School revealed significant overcrowding, prompting this vital expansion.

The newly completed classrooms are ready for the installation of essential equipment and their official commissioning. They boast integrated digital systems, including televisions.

Additionally, the expansion features modern Biology, Chemistry, and Physics laboratories equipped with advanced safety features and tools to support STEM pathways.

Omollo emphasized that the fully networked computer laboratory will enhance ICT and computer studies upon completion.

With these new facilities, the school can now accommodate over 1,700 students across 24 instructional rooms. This expansion aims to alleviate pressure on existing resources while preparing for future Senior School cohorts.

Security has been a key focus in this investment, with the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration ensuring a safe and orderly environment for the expanded school.

Omollo stated that these security measures will foster an environment in which the new facilities can thrive.

The enhanced environment is designed to provide girls with a secure space to learn, nurture their talents, and prepare for the responsibilities that lie ahead.

This transformation reflects the school’s commitment to expanding its capacity to meet growing enrollment while offering top-notch facilities for science, technology, and computer-based learning.
