National Customer Service Week 2026 Begins in Kenya

Kenya proudly celebrates National Customer Service Week (NCSW) 2026, an initiative dedicated to enhancing citizen-centered service delivery, fostering innovation, and cultivating a culture of excellence within the public sector.

Running from Monday, October 5, to Friday, this week embraces the theme “Extra Mile: Transforming Public Service Through Customer Service Excellence,” accompanied by the national tagline “Huduma Bora, Taifa Bora.”

Coordinated by the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, with the Kenya School of Government as the Secretariat, this initiative offers a national stage for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to highlight reforms, innovations, and initiatives that enhance the quality, accessibility, and responsiveness of public services.

The 2026 National Customer Service Week reflects the Government’s commitment to efficient, responsive, and citizen-centered service delivery, aligning with the Constitution of Kenya, the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and the broader Public Service Transformation Agenda.

This initiative opens doors for Government institutions to engage directly with citizens, showcase their services, gather feedback, and share practical solutions for improving service delivery.

The organizers emphasize that achieving customer service excellence is vital for building public confidence in Government institutions and ensuring that citizens receive timely, accessible, efficient, and responsive services.

The program will focus on five key BETA pillars: the Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy; Universal Health Coverage; Affordable Housing and Urban Development; Agricultural Transformation and Food Security; and the MSME Economy.

Within the Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy, we will spotlight digital government, innovation, accessible services, and citizen-facing technologies.

The Universal Health Coverage pillar will prioritize people-centered healthcare, citizen information, outreach, and responsive health services. Affordable Housing and Urban Development will aim for dignified housing, land and settlement services, along with accessible urban-service information.

The Agricultural Transformation and Food Security pillar will focus on enhancing farmer and livestock services, food-security innovations, market information, and extension services to improve the experience of citizens relying on Government agricultural support.

Under the MSME Economy, the program will promote enterprise support, financial inclusion, productivity, cooperative development, and service excellence initiatives to empower businesses and entrepreneurs.

A highlight of National Customer Service Week will be a shared exhibition and citizen-engagement platform, bringing together Government institutions to showcase their services and innovations.

The program will include institutional exhibitions, service demonstrations, BETA thematic forums, panel discussions, citizen engagement and feedback sessions, digital government showcases, media and social media engagement, and live streaming of selected activities.

The organizers anticipate that this initiative will facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-institutional learning while inspiring public servants to go the “extra mile” in meeting the needs and expectations of citizens.

The week will conclude with commitments to service excellence, documentation, monitoring and evaluation, and post-event reporting to capture lessons and recommendations for enhancing customer service across Government.

Ultimately, National Customer Service Week 2026 aims to reinforce the message that quality public service is essential to Kenya’s transformation agenda, with the goal of creating a more responsive, efficient, inclusive, and citizen-focused public service. “Huduma Bora, Taifa Bora.”
