Egypt Citizenship by Investment Starts at $250,000

Egypt, recognized as Africa’s second-largest economy, stands out in Henley & Partners’ 2026 global ranking of citizenship-by-investment programs. This unique opportunity starts at an appealing investment of just $250,000.

Foreign investors seeking a second citizenship need not limit their options to the Caribbean or Europe. Egypt presents a compelling alternative, featured prominently in the Henley & Partners’ 2026 global ranking of citizenship-by-investment programs.

Highlighting its prestige, Egypt joins a distinguished group of countries in Henley & Partners’ 2026 Residence and Citizenship Programs report, alongside notable jurisdictions such as Austria, Argentina, Jordan, Malta, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Egypt’s citizenship-by-investment program offers foreign nationals four distinct investment pathways. The most accessible option requires a $250,000 non-refundable contribution to the state’s public treasury.

Alternatively, applicants can choose to invest $300,000 in qualifying government-owned real estate, contribute $350,000 to a local business with an additional $100,000 contribution to the state, or make a $500,000 bank deposit, which is recoverable in Egyptian pounds after three years without interest.

The Egyptian government ensures efficient processing through a specialized citizenship-by-investment unit, with the promise of citizenship granted within approximately six to twelve months.

This program is part of a larger global trend where affluent individuals leverage investment migration to secure alternative citizenship or residence rights. Henley & Partners defines citizenship by investment as a legal avenue through which qualified individuals can obtain citizenship by making a government-sanctioned economic contribution.

Egypt’s inclusion in this elite ranking is particularly significant given its robust economy. With a GDP of around $429.65 billion, it ranks just behind South Africa among African nations, and its strategic location connects Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

For global investors, the appeal extends beyond the $250,000 entry price. Egyptian citizenship provides visa-free access to 49 countries, offering investors the advantage of holding citizenship in one of Africa’s largest and most dynamic economies.
