
A tragic incident occurred in the Itimba Ithei water point area of Tseikuru Subcounty, Kitui County, where a 29-year-old herdsman, Masika Muthemi Mulandi, lost his life while grazing livestock. Authorities are treating this as a murder case.
On June 5, 2026, police from Kwa Kamari arrived at the scene after reports of the attack. They discovered Masika’s body in a thicket with two gunshot wounds to his back and a severe cut to his head. Additionally, three goats were found dead nearby, also with gunshot injuries.
Despite a thorough search by security officers, the suspects fled into nearby thickets. The scene was documented before Masika’s body was taken to Kyuso Subcounty Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem.

In another case, police in Kasarani are investigating a suspected murder after discovering an unidentified man’s body outside a residential area in Githurai 44 on June 5, 2026. A resident found the body upon returning home from work.
Police arrived to find the man lying face up, with visible stab wounds and bruises, indicating foul play. The body was taken to Nairobi City Mortuary for identification and a post-mortem examination.
