
Ten people have been killed in Migori town a lorry lost control and crashed into people. Sources said the ill-fated lorry that was transporting rice to the border town of Isebania before developing brake failure and crashing.
The accident happened at around 7 am after the driver lost control of a lorry and rammed into boda boda riders in Migori town. According to eye witnesses, the driver who was also killed in the accident lost control of the lorry and started hooting at Chamkombe area signalling brake failure before knocking several people in the busy town, leaving three in critical condition.
According to Migori county commander Mark Wanjala, the first people who arrived at the scene decided to loot rice instead of offering first aid to victims.
Azimio leaders including Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga and Azimio leader Raila Odinga expressed their condolences to the dead. “I offer my deepest sympathies to all those who have lost their loved ones, friends, and colleagues in the tragic accident that occurred this morning at the boda boda stage in Migori town.” Said Odinga.
