Wafula Chebukati Critically ill in ICU at Nairobi Hospital

Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Mr. Wafula Chebukati has passed away.

The passing of Mr. wafula Chebukati was confirmed by the family and according to them, he died on Thursday night at around 11pm.

The death comes just a few days after it was reported that the ex IEBC chair was in a critical condition and was receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital. He had been hospitalized for many months, with sources indicating he was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

While the exact nature of his illness remains undisclosed, family sources revealed that Chebukati had been managing his health issues at home before his condition worsened, necessitating hospital care. Close family members who spoke to Nyanzadaily also revealed that Mr. Wafula’s all internal organs had failed, forcing the doctors to declare him as “clinically dead”.

The news of Chebukati’s sickness drew mixed reactions from Kenyans with most people wishing him quick recovery from whatever he is going through.
