Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has come out to defend his tough stance on judiciary head Chief Justice (CJ) Martha Koome.
The counsel has rubbished the assertions that he has personal scores to settle with the Chief Justice Martha Koome. Mr Ahmednasir Abdullahi said that his only intention is to see to it that the Chief Justice executes her roles to the highest level for Kenyans.
“People think I have something personal against the CJ. I don’t have. I just want her to do her work,” Ahmednasir said today.
The fire brand lawyer had a few bones to pick with both the current CJ and her predecessor David Maraga on endemic corruption that is slowly whittling the integrity of Kenyan courts down. “The current CJ and Maraga (former CJ) did not issue a statement during their tenure to that effect and judges feel no one will come for them.
“If the Chief Justice gives a statement today and says corruption is endemic and we need to address it. I can assure you that corruption in the judiciary will drop by 60 per cent because they know there will be consequences,” Ahmednasir Abdullahi said.
