The much-awaited Building Bridges Initiative was released today four months after its completion by the steering committee.
In a handover ceremony held at Kisii state lodge, the Hajji led committee submitted the report to President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The release comes a day after the Mashujaa day celebration in Kisii county. Many leaders anticipated that the document was to be released yesterday with Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua castigating the two for planning to use a national holiday to release the BBI Report.
President Uhuru Kenyatta clarified that the document was not against a particular person or community as is being propagated by some quarters. He urged those criticizing it to read it with a view of making it better and not to criticize it. He further reiterated that it is for the prosperity of our nation to ensure that nobody is left behind and to avoid bloodsheds after every five years.

The head of state told the steering committee to get it to as many citizens as possible so that the country can have a national dialogue on the document. The report will also be read in Bomas of Kenya on the 26th of October 2022 by the Hajji team where they will simplify all the nine points captured in the document for easier understanding.
