The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has intensified its grassroots mobilization efforts by hosting a women-led political group, Tutam Brigade, to bolster support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a statement released on X on April 15, 2026, the party highlighted a meeting held at its Nairobi headquarters, which convened women leaders and mobilizers from across the city.
The UDA emphasized that this engagement gathered a dynamic team of women activists from various neighborhoods in Nairobi, who will play a crucial role in grassroots mobilization and community messaging.
“The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General, Hassan Omar Hassan, welcomed the enthusiastic Tutam Brigade from Nairobi City County at the Party Headquarters, Hustler Plaza,” the statement detailed.
The party noted that the group comprises representatives from all 17 constituencies within Nairobi and is dedicated to informing the public about government programs while simultaneously rallying political support for President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027.
“Under the leadership of Patron Liz Waithira, the group is actively promoting awareness of government initiatives while generating support for President Ruto’s campaign,” the statement added.
Additionally, the party indicated that this initiative extends beyond Nairobi, with plans already underway to replicate the model across all 47 counties in the country as part of a comprehensive political strategy.
“Beyond simple advocacy, the brigade’s ambitious plan to expand operations nationwide highlights a strategic effort to unite and consolidate the women’s vote for the Party,” the statement emphasized.
“Hassan assured the group of the party’s unwavering support as they pursue their mission,” the statement concluded.
