“Shame on You”: Bobi Wine To Museveni on His Remarks on Abducted Kenyans

The National Unity Platform party’s presidential hopeful and Uganda’s opposition figure, Robert Kyagulanyi, known as Bobi Wine, has condemned the President of the country, Yoweri Museveni, for accusations regarding human rights violations in Uganda.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, Bobi Wine responded on his X handle to Museveni’s claims that linked the kidnapping of two Kenyan nationals, Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, to his presidential goals for 2026.

After Njagi and Oyoo were freed following 39 days of being unaccounted for on the night of Friday, November 7, 2025, Museveni alleged that his government apprehended the two due to their proficiency in inciting riots. During an interview with Uganda’s national broadcaster on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Museveni lauded the intelligence of Uganda for disrupting the activities of Njagi and Oyoo, whom he accused of being in league with Bobi Wine.

Experts in riots

“We possess highly reliable intelligence. For example, the two Kenyans we apprehended were collaborating with Kyagulanyi’s group. Our surveillance revealed that they were skilled in managing riots,” stated Museveni. Yoweri Museveni also cautioned against similar endeavors. “I must alert those engaging in such activities here in Uganda. We typically overcome it by counteracting it as we did in November 2020,” he bragged.

In his response to Museveni’s comments, Bobi Wine asserted that the Ugandan President will eventually face consequences for the transgressions he has committed against the Ugandan populace. “In this video, Dictator Museveni acknowledges that our Kenyan compatriots Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo were kidnapped and held incommunicado for 39 days due to their affiliation with us. He asserts that they endured all forms of torture and suffering because they are ‘experts in riots’. SHAME ON YOU,” Bobi Wine expressed.

The artist-turned-politician has also criticized the Ugandan government for its failure to adhere to proper legal procedures regarding the cases of Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, including their prosecution in a court of law.

Human rights violations

“If they committed any offence, why were they not taken before the court and formally charged? Incidentally, these brothers confirmed that they were being held with a significant number of Ugandans and people from other nations.

“Could those include our supporters who have been unaccounted for for 5 or 6 years now? We have a duty to confront and eradicate this criminality. Fortunately, these statements by Museveni will always be on record, and they will be beneficial when the time comes to seek accountability for the crimes committed against the people of Uganda,” Bobi Wine expressed.

Meanwhile, Njagi and Oyoo were reunited with their families upon their arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Saturday, November 8, 2025, after diplomatic efforts between the Kenyan and Ugandan governments yielded positive results.
