
Safaricom has achieved an impressive 67.3 percent increase in net earnings for 2025, reaching a landmark Sh99.7 billion.
The telecommunications company credits this remarkable growth to its innovative products, which significantly enhance consumers’ daily lives.
This achievement marks the highest profit ever recorded by any company in East and Central Africa.
The firm’s service revenue rose by 10 percent, surpassing the Sh400 billion threshold, while losses from its Ethiopian unit were halved. The second half of the year saw a strengthened momentum, with service revenue increasing by 10.7 percent year-on-year, compared to 9.3 percent in the first half.
M-Pesa emerged as the primary driver of revenue performance, accounting for 59.2 percent of total growth. It expanded its revenue mix to 45.6 percent, with a year-on-year growth of 13.4 percent.
The connectivity business remained the largest contributor to revenue, growing by 6.9 percent year-on-year, fueled by a 14.4 percent increase in mobile data. Fixed revenue also saw a significant rise of 12.2 percent, driven by robust growth in the consumer segment.
