The Media Council of Kenya in conjunction with other partners will today hold the Deputy Presidential Debates at the Catholic University auditorium.
The debates will feature four Deputy presidential candidates namely Rigathi Gachagua of UDA, Martha Karua of Azimio, Justina Wamae of Roots Party and Irene Mutua of Agano Party.
UDA’s Rigathi Gachagua signalled his participation by attending the debates briefing at the venue on 18th July 2022. During the session Rigathi confirmed that he will attend the debates because he respects the Kenyan voters who deserve the opportunity to interrogate his policies as Deputy President.
This is unlike his boss the UDA presidential candidate William Ruto who is yet to confirm whether he will participate in the Presidential Debates scheduled for 27th July 2022 at the same venue.
Roots Party’s Professor Wajackoyah on the other hand has said that he will only participate if he is on the same podium with the top candidates Raila Odinga and William Ruto.
